Track Skiing

Smithers has the BV Nordic Center only a ten minute drive from down town on the way up to Ski Smithers ( Hudson Bay Mtn) . This Nordic facility is one of the best in British Columbia with over 40 km of trails including 5 km of lit track for night skiing. There is also a 5 km dog loop for aerobic dog lovers. The BV Nordic Centre has a wonderful lodge and waxing facilty with great track setting. The club has a Masters program that runs Jan-Mar on Wed nights. Back Country

We are referring to skiing in the woods on trails set by skis not by machine and getting up into the Alpine. This does not refer to alpine touring gear with plastic boots . The Bulkley Valley boasts many locations where you can throw on your light touring gear and ski through the powder while getting that fresh air rush through your lungs and experience breath taking views.
