XC & Adventure Trails
Cronin Pass Trail
This is an all day mostly xc suited ride with some tecnical rocky sections. If a picture says a thousand words then this video probably says more. A quick over view of the trail. For details on access and more info stop by the store or visit the Provincial Parks page for more info on the Babine Mountain Recreational Area.
This is a 5km loop trail in the Call Lake Provincial Park just outside of Smithers. The upper section across the ridge is fun early season as the snow comes off it fairly early. A series of rolling hills makes for a fun ride. The lower section is often very muddy in particular the portion alongside Call Lake and is not recommended early in the season. Connecting the upper and lower portions is a rather steep hill that can be walked. The full 5k loop is a great XC work out that will bring you through a variety of terrain and is great for training. Download a map of Call Mountain Provincial Park from BC Parks or visit the parks website for more info.
Northeast Slope Trails
Although primarily geared towards freeriders the Boardwalk Access trail, Uptrack and new Cross Country Trail are good for XC geared mountain bike riders. Stop by the shop for more details.
Smithers Perimeter Trail
Exactly what it sounds like, a trail around the outside of the Town of Smithers. This is 10km gravel loop trail with mostly rolling terrain and few hills easily rideable by all skill levels. This is a multi-purpose trail built by the Town of Smithers and used by joggers, walkers, horseback riders and other groups. Please be curtious of other user groups and keep your speed down. Several cuttoffs lead back to town at various points and the full 10k loop does not need to be ridden. If your just visiting Smithers this is a great trail to go for a quick ride on.
