Agenda

10:00 – 10:30 Basic Spey casting instruction. Beginner level. Principles of Spey casting. Basic casts explained; switch cast, single spey and double spey.

10:30 – 11:15 Guideline rod demos. Try out rods and lines. Ask questions about how to set up your rod/line combinations. Get individual help with casting.

11:15 – 11:45 Advanced Spey casting instruction. Water-born vs air-born casts. Circle cast, Snap-T cast, Snake-roll, casting techniques to deal with heavy sink tips and limited back-space.

12:00 – 1:00 Lunch.

1:00 – 1:45 Guideline rod demos. Opportunity to try out Guideline rods and lines. Ask questions on how to set up your personal rod/line combination and get help with casting.

1:45 – 2:15 Skandinavian style casting. Principles of Scandinavian style casting. Scandinavian style casting compared to Skagit and Classic styles of casting. Techniques and equipment requirements for Skandinavian style casting.

2:15 – 3:00 Guideline rod demos. Opportunity to try out Guideline rods and lines. Ask questions on how to set up your personal rod/line combination and get help with casting.

3:00 – 3:30 Refreshments.

3:30 – 4:30 Fly tying and line set up. Tying Temple Dog style flies for steelhead. FITS tube system. Shooting head loop construction. How to determine length and weight of shooting heads for your rod. Running lines.
